Bikes designed by drummer Taylor Hawkins and bassist Nate Mendel are up for auction to raise money for live music crews affected by Covid-19

Brompton has revealed all the designs for the 14 one-off bikes up for auction to raise money for live music crews left without work due to the Covid-19 pandemic, including two designs by Foo Fighters.

Bidding on the bikes, designed by artists including Radiohead, Phoebe Bridgers, LCD Soundsystem, Enrique Iglesias and more, opened today on Greenhouse Auctions with 100% of the profits going to charity Crew Nation. The auction closes on 12th June.

Two of the bikes unveiled today were designed by members of the Foo Fighters, with drummer Taylor Hawkins and bassist Nate Mendel each putting their stamp on a Brompton.

Hawkins's bike was inspired by his nickname 'Hawk' and designed on Brompton's M6L Black Edition, with birds as well as the band's logo in black on the frame and stem.

Meanwhile, Mendel's design was also on an M6L, this time with the Superlight frame – the lightest, with a titanium rear frame and fork – and is mainly based on the band's Medicine at Midnight album with a reference to One by One also featured on the serial plate.

Tevis Jory, Brompton's North America sales manager and music project lead, said, 'For every tour and festival announced there are countless road warriors still reeling from the impact of Covid-19 tour cancellations and closures. At the same time, the outdoor industry has thrived. As a brand we felt compelled to give back to an industry that was hurting.

'We've gotten to know so many in the live music community through out stateside Band Bike Hire programme, which allows any touring crew or band to reserve bikes free of charge for the entirety of their US tour, and we wanted to find a way to support our friends after a year with a near total pause on concerts.'

Other bikes up for auction include a flowery design by Dinosaur Jr., LCD Soundsystem's colourful number and, arguably the best of the bunch, a stylish peach bike from Khruangbin.
