Take a closer look at the Danish dynamite’s Lapierre Xelius SL

Three-time Danish time trial champion Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig will be looking to capitalise on her attacking skills at the World Championships road race on Saturday.

After securing her first WorldTour victory at Vuelta a Burgos in May, the Danish dynamite will be hoping to resurrect that form and put behind her the recent crashes at the Simac Ladies Tour last month, and on the opening day of Giro d’Italia Donne.

With boots on the ground, we took an in-depth look at the Dane’s 50cm Lapierre Xelius SL before the big day.

The 26-year-old's bike sports a full Shimano Dura-Ace R9170 groupset – again, not the new 12-speed R9200 series Dura-Ace – along with matching Dura-Ace tubular wheels and Continental tubular tyres.

She'll be sitting on a Prologo Dimension saddle while the 40cm-wide Lapierre integrated cockpit has a 150mm 'stem'.

The women’s race is brimming with talent and it’s all to play for, but a Uttrup Ludwig celebration and legendary post-race interview would go down a treat.
