Engineered Bicycles

Customer focus meets engineering expertise

Engineered Bicycles Gezel

Engineered Bicycles was founded in 2010 by David Fong, a chartered mechanical engineer who was frustrated at not being able to find a titanium commuter – so he decided to build his own. ‘With that project complete I wanted to share my passion for custom builds with other cyclists, combining my engineering expertise and knowledge of cycling to design discipline-specific bikes from the ground up,’ Fong says.

He established a partnership with graphic designer Adrian Ridley in 2013 to ensure the bikes look as good as they ride. The final piece of the bespoke jigsaw for Engineered is to ensure their creations are tuned as closely as possible to their customers’ requirements. It’s an aspect of the design to which Fong and Ridley take a novel approach.

‘We encourage our customers to bring a story or a point of inspiration, which forms a creative brief,’ says Ridley. ‘We find that this approach allows us to create a bicycle that is truly customised and personal.

‘What we feel stands us apart is that we combine this personal service with engineering integrity, backed up by design and testing according to Euro standards.’

It’s a painstaking approach, and the unique results speak for themselves.
