A special paint job for the European Champion who's riding a thoroughly Italian set-up

European Champion Elia Viviani almost made a perfect debut for his new Cofidis team at the weekend racing to second at the Schwalbe Classic Criterium behind Lotto-Soudal's Caleb Ewan.

While it was not the result he wanted, the Italian will likely be pleased by how his lead-out train worked but also that he got an opportunity to showcase his special De Rosa SK Pininfarina bike.

Having traded in the Specialized S-Works Venge bikes of Deceuninck-QuickStep, Viviani will have a homely feel from his new set-up for 2020 racing De Rosa frame, Campagnolo groupset and Fulcrum wheels.

Vying it out for sprint victories, the 30-year-old has opted to race on De Rosa SK Pininfarina aero race bike that has been given a special paint job to reflect his status as European Champion.

While the majority of the frame is white, nods to the European flag have been added to the seat tube and forks, giving a classy and understated look.

It is also good to see that Cofidis have limited their branding on the bike, sticking to small decals on the top tube and forks.

With the groupset provided by Campagnolo, Viviani has opted for 12-speed Super Record EPS with a 53/39, 11-29t gear ratio and integrated SRM power meter.

Viviani's wheelset of choice is the Fulcrum Speed 55T deep-section tubulars complete with 25mm Michelin Power Competition tyres.

Vision provides its Metron 5D one-piece handlebar-stem while Sella Italia has also produced a SRL saddle with a European Champion's finish.

A stunning paint job and a build designed to go fast, expect Elia Viviani's De Rosa SK Pininfarina to be guided to some big victories this season.
