A guide on how to watch the women’s and men’s 2022 Paris-Roubaix races on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th April

It feels like we were at Paris-Roubaix just last October…

Paris-Roubaix is back in its original April slot for 2022 after being cancelled altogether in 2020 and held in an unfamiliar autumn slot in last year’s coronavirus-affected cycling calendar.

Even then, due to the French elections, the third Monument of the season is actually taking place a week later than what was previously normal.

In 2021, a delayed inaugural edition of Paris-Roubaix Femmes meant the peloton finally made history and we had the sofa-gripping action of winner Lizzie Deignan being chased down by Marianne Vos.

That same day, viewers witnessed Sonny Colbrelli’s emotional celebration after beating Florian Vermeersch and Mathieu van der Poel to the line at the Roubaix Velodrome in the men’s race.

In 2022, the two events will be held on separate days. Paris-Roubaix Femmes will take place on Saturday 16th April and the men’s Paris-Roubaix will follow on Sunday 17th April.

Deignan will not be defending her title at the second edition of the race. The Trek-Segafredo rider is skipping the 2022 racing season due to expecting her second child, and recently signed a contract extension with the team until at least 2024.

Bahrain Victorious’ Colbrelli will also not be at the start line on the men’s side. The Italian has pulled back from cycling after collapsing and requiring a defibrillator at the Volta a Catalunya, unsure when or even if he will return to racing.

All action will be available to watch on both GCN and Eurosport.

GCN+ is available at a cost of £39.99 annually or £6.99 per month here. It is ad-free, provides commentary in various languages and gives viewers a choice of cycling-based documentaries.

For Paris-Roubaix, they will be providing a ‘live show’ as seen for other Monuments and major cycling races.

Eurosport should come as standard with many digital packages such as Virgin Media and Sky. Eurosport Player is also available for £39.99 per year or £6.99 a month here.
