Former world pursuit champion and hour record holder set bring 'fresh, left-field influence' to Scottish apparel brand.

Graeme Obree is set to become a brand ambassador for clothing brand Endura, with the Scottish outfit keen to get the 'Flying Scotsman' onboard for his flair for the extra-ordinary. 'Obree will be involved as an innovation catalyst, bringing an injection of disruptive flare to the product team,' a press release said, 'being the very embodiment of Endura’s mantra “Renegade Progress”.'

Obree set the hour record twice in his career, in 1993 with 51.596km and 1994 with 52.713km, and is a double world pursuit champion, while more recently has tasked himself with trying to break the World Human Powered Speed Challenge record - where he took the record for cycling in the prone position.

Endura believe that counting Obree as a brand ambassador will bring a 'fresh, left-field influence' to their projects, as a man of typically unorthodox approaches, a past world champion, and still-daily cyclist.

'[I'm] delighted to be working with an iconic Scottish brand to produce clothing that I want to wear myself and I am really looking forward to working with the team at Endura.'

Meanwhile, Endura founder and Managing Director Jim McFarlane, had this to say: 'He is the consummate gentleman and his track record - not only as an athlete but also as a pioneer and innovator - makes him perfectly well matched to working with our team here at Endura.'
