Tour de France bikes: Tom Pidcock’s Pinarello Dogma F

Ineos Grenadiers stick to a predictable setup for British rider's Tour debut

The 2022 Tour de France is Ineos Grenadiers’ first Tour on their new Pinarello Dogma F road bikes. Built with asymmetrical tubes for aero gains and otherworldly stiffness, it’s used by all the team's riders across flat and mountain stages – they don’t have a choice of ‘aero’ and ‘lightweight’ platforms as such.

This year it will also be put to the test on the cobbles normally reserved for Paris-Roubaix as today’s Stage 5 takes on several pavé sections before finishing at Arenberg Port du Hainaut, sadly just skirting the entrance of the legendary Trouée d'Arenberg.

One rider to watch over the whole race will be Ineos’s Tom Pidcock. The young lad from Leeds is one of the most versatile riders of his generation, capable of climbing with the best while also in with a shot of winning just about every Classic on the calendar.

Should Pidcock be let off the leash  – and even if he’s tasked with helping teammates Geraint Thomas, Adam Yates and Dani Martínez – this is the bike that he’ll be using to go after a stage or two.

Kitted out with Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 and matching C60 wheels, the team don’t tend to veer away from their standard setup including Continental’s GP5000 S TR tyres, a Pinarello Most one-piece bar and stem, and a Fizik saddle.

Ineos are still using previous-generation Dura-Ace R9100 power meter cranks on at least some of their bikes however, reflecting the ongoing problem of component availability.

The only notable customisation on Pidcock’s Dogma F is a 3D-printed protector stuck to the drive-side chainstay.
