It’s long been established that coffee and cycling go hand in hand so it comes as no real surprise to see Strava bring us the most popular cafes amongst cyclists in London. Location is everything so it’s also no real surprise to see the Roehampton Gate Café, in Richmond Park, the overall winner. In fact the Roehampton café is the most stopped at location in the world according to Strava.

The ‘Top Stops’ list comes from all the data Strava have been compiling for their new Local feature, which gives route suggestions for cities all over the world. London records the most kilometres of all (a whopping 1.7 million a week) with an average of 78,000 journeys.

Strava have put together 10 routes for London, with the 85 mile ‘London to Box Hill’ route calling at quite a few of the popular ones along the way – it’s a pretty well used route so you can see why the cafes are so popular.

We think the honourable mention goes to G!ro in Esher, as not only were they recently voted the ‘Best Coffee Shop for Cyclists 2015’ but they also do a smashing avocados on toast. You can see the full list below, and check out Strava local for yourself here: Strava Local.
