New BMC Timemachine available with multiple cockpit options for both triathlon and UCI-approved time trialling.

Fowllowing yesterday's PX5 triathlon bike launch by Cervelo, BMC has made use of the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii to reveal the latest version of its time trial model, the Timemachine.

The new Timemachine has been made with triathlon as a primary focus, and as such the flagship model, the Timemachine 01, features a new 'V-Cockpit' that is aimed at providing more comfort and speed for long distance triathletes. However, there is a standard 'Flat Cockpit' version available, and with a quick tinker this version is totally UCI legal.

This is because the Timemachine comes with two options for seat post position - one which follows the line of the seat tube all the way down to the bottom bracket (UCI legal version), and one which places it in front of that line in the seat post cluster (triathlon only).

Elsewhere on the bike there's updates to the front end, with the new 'Hinge fork' employed to reduce the bike's frontal profile, while the 'Quickpad' brake calliper system allows the user to swap cartridges - and therefore wheels (be it for training or racing) - with greater ease. Storage boxes and multiple bosses for bottle cage mounts are further measures to make the bike more user-friendly.

The Timemachine 01 is available with Dura Ace Di2, Ultegra Di2 or Sram eTap builds, while the Timemachine 02 - which comes with a standard cockpit - is available with Ultegra Di2 and both Ultegra and 105 mechanical groupsets. Pricing is unavailable at the moment, but both bikes will be available in spring next year.
