Rapha announces its spring/summer range with updated bibs and collector's editions

Rapha’s Classic Bib Shorts have been unchanged for over a decade

One of the first items introduced by the London based cycling brand after they were founded back in 2004, Rapha’s Classic Bib Shorts have been unchanged for over a decade. While a pair of black shorts might seem a little unglamorous, when cyclists find their perfect match it’s often a relationship they’ll want to keep for life.

Having collected a loyal following over the years there will be plenty of bottoms out there interested to see how Rapha have tweaked their design.

The Rapha Classic Bib Shorts II will feature what Rapha claims is an improved chamois pad, which comes in three sizes split across the range to ensure the best fit. The distinctive, medium weight ‘luxury lycra’ remains unchanged, as does the low key styling.

Elsewhere Pro Team, Classic, Brevet and Souplesse bibs also get updated, as do the Gillet and Pack Jacket.

Rapha nerds will be kept happy by two Collector’s Editions which are each limited to 800 pieces.

These are reworkings of the Classic Rain Jacket, which features a panel of overlapping horizontal slats running across the back for improved ventilation, and a new take on the Classic Gilet.

This sees the rear mesh panel replaced by a hand-woven fabric which provides the same ventilation but adds a distinctive geometric element to the back of the garment.

See Rapha for more information.
