New sponsor London Midland offers up extra spaces for the event

A very limited number of extra spaces have become available on the Vélo Birmingham sportive, a 100 mile closed-road event centred around the city.

The event is due to be held on Sunday 24th September, and after a city centre start will head out on a loop around Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Sandwell and Dudley, before finishing back in Birmingham city centre.

New sponsor London Midland has volunteered to give up the spaces it was allocated to the public, and as such there are now a very limited number of tickets available. They will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis, and are available from

Jon Ridgeon, Executive Chairman of Vélo Birmingham organisers CSM Active, said: 'We are delighted to welcome London Midland on board as a Principal Partner of the inaugural Vélo Birmingham. It is fantastic that they are providing cyclists with a second opportunity to enter the sold-out event and we thank them for this generous gesture.'
