New three-year deal, an international programme, and a new name: the Rapha Nocturne Series

The London Nocturne, organised and run by Face Partnership, has partnered with Rapha to bring the event into a new, more international, phase. With the arrival of Rapha, the series is set to become an international affair, with events due to launch in international cities, creating a 'Rapha Nocturne Series'.

Launched in 2007, with Rapha as the original co-partner, the Nocturne has established itself as highlight in the British cycling calendar, bringing a combination of elite racing, novelty competitions and a race village to the centre of London. Previous winners at the London Nocturne include Ed Clancy (JLT Condor), Geraint Thomas, Ian Stannard (Team Sky), Alex Dowsett (Movistar Team) and Hannah Barnes (CANYON//SRAM).

The London Nocturne will be held on 10th June 2017 on a circuit around The City and St.Pauls, and although further destinations are yet to be officially revealed, Face Parnershiship's James Pope hinted at an American location, as he told Cyclist last year: ‘Our plan to scale it is international, so we’ve been to New York and assessed the costs of holding an event there, and we’ve put together a list of cities.'

Meanwhile Rapha's founder, Simon Mottram, said: 'We are delighted to return to the Nocturne with Face Partnership. We are also excited to be creating an international series of events that can inspire the future of racing, challenging convention and traditional race settings and formats. We want to attract thousands of people, with rides to the event, time with the pros, and dedicated sessions to promote involvement in cycling for all ages and abilities.'
