Velon's GoPro footage from the 2017 Paris-Roubaix, shot from within the peloton

The advancement of onboard video footage, shot on action cameras placed on rider's bikes, has taken the spectator and viewer experience to new levels in recent years.

Velon, who describe themselves as 'Re-thinking the way the world engages with professional cycling,' are at the forefront of this advancement, with their videos documenting everything from podium presentations to crashes to wheel changes, all from the rider's perspective.

Intertwined with shots taken from a stationary roadside position for context, the videos make for a unique perspective on how a race is experienced from the inside, and with all of the drama and intensity of a race like Roubaix, this intimacy feels only heightened in Velon's latest instalment from the weekend.
