In celebration of their first Grand Tour, Aqua Blue will wear white at the Vuelta a Espana

With their first ever grand tour on the horizon, Irish Pro-Continental team Aqua Blue Sport have unveiled a new special edition white jersey for this month's Vuelta a Espana

Moving away from their usual navy design, British rider Adam Blythe modelled the new white jersey on the team's Instagram page yesterday. With this being the team's first ever invite to a three week grand tour, the white and gold jersey will certainly make an impression in the peloton.

Aqua Blue decided to announce their jersey with Adam Blythe, who is no stranger to a bright kit. Having been British National Champion last season, Blythe choose to wear an all-white affair to showcase his national stripes. The former National Champion was clearly a fan commenting that he believes the team 'should keep it for next season.'The kit has subsequently won the hearts of fans on social media, with particular attention being drawn to the matching white jersey and plain white socks.

The teams decision to revert to this special edition jersey follows suit with Team Sky at the Tour de France. Ditching their usual black, the British WorldTour team opted for a white jersey, something that was received well by most.

Aqua Blue will enter the Vuelta looking for stage success with the likes of Blythe. With a light number of sprinters scheduled to ride the race, the distinct possibility of stage wins with Blythe in their first grand tour acts as a true possibility.

Whilst white jerseys often succumb to plenty of criticism, mainly for their vulnerability in the wet, the dry, baron heat of the Vuelta is the perfect place to wear one. The Aqua Blue kit was already a smart affair in its familiar navy but we think this white edition adds a touch of class to the team's biggest ever outing.
