Escape to the fallen leaves of the Italian Lakes this Autumn with Rapha and Cyclist

Rapha and Cyclist Magazine have collaborated to launch a cycling weekend around the Italian Lakes of Lombardy. Taking place from the 13th to 16th of October, riders will get the chance to emulate the race of the fallen leaves, embracing Northern Italy in the heart of Autumn.

The four day cycling holiday looks to capture the beauty of riding in the Lombardy region, home of Il Lombardia, whilst also discovering the fine food and wine that Italy has to offer.

Centring around the town of Varese, riders will be a stone throw away from the ascents that make the Tour of Lombardy and other just a handful of days, the riders will be able to imitate their professional heroes on the autumnal roads of Italy.

The riders will tackle rides ranging from 37km to 151km over the four days, with ascents of 3,600m on the Queen Stage on day two.

The jewel in the crown lies on the second day of riding which will see you take in beautiful scenery across two countries. The 151km route will skirt around Lago di Como, taking on the Madonna del Ghisallo and Muro di Sormani, and even briefly dip into Switzerland.

You can also expect top assistance along the way. Rapha will provide at least on ride guide per group whilst also supplying a mechanic and team car to help with nutrition and mechanical needs. They will even offer you a seat in the car if you cannot quite make it home.

When you are off the bike, you will be treated to the best food and wine the region has to offer. Expect rich and hearty dishes such as Risotto which originate in Lombardy whilst also sampling the local wines.

Prices for the four day holiday start at £1,600 for single occupancy and £1,350 per person for double occupancy. The price includes accommodation, meals and ride assistance but not flights or bike rental.

If you do decide to rent a bike it will cost £50 per day for a top-specification bike.
