EF Education First-Drapac, formerly Cannondale-Drapac, unveil fluorescent kit for 2018

EF Education First-Drapac, the WorldTour outfit known currently as Cannondale-Drapac, has revealed their kit for the 2018 season – a new pink, white and green colour scheme.

Produced by Swedish brand POC, the kit will step away from the familiar green argyle of previous seasons in favour of a fluorescent pink that draws similarities to the kind of bright kits we saw back in the 1990s.

The new kit was revealed at the Rouleur Classic in London with team manager Jonathan Vaughters and new signing, Swedish national champion, Kim Magnusson present.

POC will also provide helmets and sunglasses for the team as well as an orange kit designed specifically for training.

Speaking to Cyclist, team manager Vaughters said the new colourway represented a new beginning for the team through a 'totally different design with less subtle colours'.

Financial difficulties and the withdrawal of a potential main sponsor meant that the team's ability to continue into next season was cast into doubt.

Thankfully for Vaughters and his team, EF Education First stepped in at the eleventh hour to provide main sponsorship whilst also taking control of the team's management.

Specialising in international languages and educational travel, this will be the Swedish company’s first venture into the world of pro cycling sponsorship.

The deal between EF and Vaughters' Slipstream Sports has offered long-term stability for a team that has often struggled with low funding.
