Could Campagnolo be making a watch?

Campagnolo hints at launching a watch in a cryptic message

It has already produced a corkscrew but now it looks as if Italian component giant Campagnolo will be entering the watch market. In a series of cryptic Instagram posts and in a short press release, Campagnolo hinted that it may be about to release its own mechanical watch.

Constant mentions of the word 'movement' and a picture of a watch mechanism make the release of a watch the most logical outcome.

Campagnolo promises that details will be released soon, with those signed up to its newsletter receiving the information first.

If our assumptions turn out to be true, the question will be how many watches will Campagnolo make and how much money will it be asking for?

The most likely outcome will be that the watches will be limited-edition with only the rich and famous being able to lay their wrist on one.

It is also unlikely that the Italian brand will have developed their own Swiss movement yet chances are, as with all things Campagnolo, that this potential watch will be awfully expensive.

Either way, a Campagnolo watch will be a must-have for all those lovers of Italian cycling heritage.
