Team Wiggins ends three-year partnership with Rapha with fresh new look for 2018 season

Team Wiggins have revealed a redesigned kit for the 2018 season made by new kit suppliers Le Col, opting for a less understated design compared to years previous.

This year's kit makes a nod to classic kits of the 1980s and 1990s with a bright blue bottom to the jersey offset by a bright red top section. In keeping with last season's jersey, the name Wiggins is emblazoned across the chest.

The colours of the 2018 kit are similar to that of Team Wiggins' original kit worn in the 2015 season which itself was based upon the Team GB kit of the 1980s.

As can be expected from a team run by and named after Bradley Wiggins, they will be wearing plain black shorts with only the name of the team and kit manufacturer on the bottoms.

Team Wiggins' decision to team up with Le Col comes at the end of a three-year partnership with Rapha, and falls in line with Wiggins himself having joining forced with Le Col to launch his own clothing collection, Le Col by Wiggins.

The Team Wiggins kit will only be launched officially in late March, but clearly harks back to the history of cycling, taking inspiration from cycling jerseys of the 1990s when Wiggins and Le Col founder Yanto Barker rode together as junior racers.

The team, who signed multiple cross-discipline World Champion Tom Pidcock over the winter, will officially launch their 2018 season tonight in London with Wiggins himself expected to be in attendance.
