The Dutchman is set to start his season at the Abu Dhabi Tour before defending his Giro d'Italia title

Tom Dumuolin has revealed his custom World Championships time-trial skinsuit and time-trial bike ahead of his season debut at the Abu Dhabi Tour this week.

The Team Sunweb rider will wear the all-white skinsuit and ride the custom-painted Giant Trinity Advanced Pro time-trial bike on Stage 4 of the race, an individual time-trial starting and finishing on Al Maryah Island.

The skinsuit, manufactured by Spanish cycling apparel brand Etxeondo, has been developed with partners of the team, Delft University of Technology, to produce the faster race suit possible.

Beyond the kit, the current Giro d'Italia champion will also have the use of his custom painted bike. Signalling the fact he is World Champion, the down tube of the TT bike will be painted in the rainbow colours with the remainder of the bike being black as per the team colours.

Dumoulin will make his 2018 season debut at the Abu Dhabi Tour tomorrow as the 27-year old gears up towards the defence of his Giro title this May. Despite many expecting the World Champion to focus his race around the Tour de France, Dumoulin decided he was more suited to the route of the Giro.

Abu Dhabi was the scene of Dumoulin's first race in 2017, with the rider finishing third on General Classification behind race winner Rui Costa (UAE-Team Emirates) and Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha-Alpecin).
