Cyclist Track Day Focus: Your chance to ride the Specialized Tarmac SL6

Joe Robinson
9 Mar 2018

One of the pro peloton's most winning bikes will be on offer for you to ride at the Cyclist Track Day

The Specialized S-Works Tarmac is a bike that is designed to win. Simply no other frame has taken the same number of wide varied victories as this do-all bike from the American brand.

The 2015 Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana, 2017 Tour of Flanders, 2016 Il Lombardia, a bucket load of Grand Tour stage victories and a handful of World Championships. No matter where the Tarmac is raced, it gets victories.

First produced in 2003, the Specialized S-Works Tarmac has changed with the time and its latest SL6 frame is faster, stiffer and light than ever, and this is your chance to ride one at the 2018 Cyclist Track Days.

What makes the Specialized Tarmac such a good bike

It's the Specialized Tarmac's ability to act as a jack of all trades that makes it the go-to frame for each professional team that uses or has used Specialised.

The most recent SL6 has become a much faster beast with dropped seatstays mirroring its aerodynamic sibling, the Venge ViAS, and a wider seat tube which helps dramatically reduce drag.

At 733g for a 56cm frame, the Tarmac is also impressively light for a bike that has improved its aerodynamics, hence why the Quick-Step Floors team swear by this frame in the mountains.

For when you are not sprinting or climbing in the mountains, cruising along on a weekend ride, the Tarmac offers supreme comfort.

With provisions for 31mm tyres, the 26mm standard Turbo Cotton tyres actually measure at 29mm. With width like this, the Tarmac eats up cobbles and gravel just as easily as tarmac.

The ever-impressive Specialized Tarmac SL6 will be one of the fleet of Specialized bikes available for you to ride at one of four Cyclist Track Days this spring.

If the Tarmac is not your cup of tea, bikes from the likes of BMC, Canyon, Bianchi, Cannondale and 3T will also be on offer for you to test around the purpose-built tracks.

With your ticket, not only will you get to ride bikes to your heart's content but also you will also get to speak to experts from the brands and the Cyclist editorial team while getting a hot lunch and goody bag.
