Treat yourself to life in the peloton thanks to GoPro, Velon and LottoNL-Jumbo's Antwan Tolhoek

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to be in the professional pelton? Well now you can thanks to the guys at Velon and GoPro fitting a 360° camera to the handlebars of LottoNL-Jumbo's Antwan Tolhoek.

The impressive footage of Tolhoek racing the Abu Dhabi Tour last month was all thanks to the Go Pro Fusion camera.

Attached to the bars of the Dutchman, the video allows you to fully explore the 360° view of the peloton as Tolhoek rolls out of the starting gate, narrowly avoids a crash and bunny hops a few speed bumps.

It's not just us viewers who are amazed with the camera as a rider from Team Sunweb and Jonathan Castroviejo (Team Sky) both come up to Tolhoek to investigate the camera. We even get treated to a wave from Team Sky's Spaniard.

Although the peloton is not travelling at its highest speeds, we do get a better understanding of just how fast the riders go and just how easy they can make it look as they share bottles and laughs while in the bunch.

The GoPro Fusion camera manages to capture the immersive footage to be shot in 4k ultra-high resolution at every angle. The Fusion has also been used by the likes of Alex Dowsett (Katusha-Alpecin) to capture training rides.

This is one of the many ways that Velon is trying to give the viewer a different perspective of bike racing. Alongside these 360° cameras, the group joint owned by 10 WorldTour team also relays live data from the peloton online such as rider's power, speed and distance.

At the recent Ruta del Sol, Chris Froome (Team Sky) was one of the riders whose data was live broadcast for fans to watch.
