The 2018 Tour of Flanders was entertaining to watch and looked as hard as ever to ride, but in truth may not be one of the editions of the race we look back on as an 'epic' in years to come. Even so, it still turned out some fantastic photos from the cobbles and bergs that make the route so interesting.

The win went to Niki Terpstra (Quick-Step Floors), who rode away from his rivals and bridged to a breakaway, passed those three riders on the Oude Kwaremont and away he went, staying clear over the Paterberg.

Chasing Terpstra was the young Mads Pedersen. The 22-year-old Trek-Segafredo rider held on for second place and much of the post-race chat was not about the day's winner but about this young rider.

Earlier in the day, Anna van der Breggen's win in the Women's Tour of Flanders was even more dominant than Terpstra's, but photos from that race are seemingly unavailable through our usual agency (we'll keep trying).

This weekend the best race in the cycling calendar takes place across the cobbled roads of Northern France with the 2018 edition of Paris-Roubaix.

Like Flanders, Roubaix will be shown from start to finish on Eurosport so forget the Sunday club run just this once and get comfortable for a full day's viewing.
