AG2R La Mondiale will ride with Maglia Rosa inspired pulley wheels for entire Giro d'Italia

Ahead of the 101st Giro d'Italia this Friday, component manufacturer Ceramic Speed has released a limited edition run of pink pulley wheels inspired from the race's iconic Maglia Rosa.

The rather stunning looking wheels will be released to the public for purchase on Friday 4th May while also being used by the French WorldTeam AG2R La Mondiale for the entire race.

The limited edition jockey wheels will be compatible with Shimano/SRAM and of course Campagnolo, running 11-speed drivetrains and fitting cassettes up to 32-tooth.

Ceramic Speed bearings and jockey wheels are argued to be the fastest in the world, reducing friction and allowing precise shifting, while outlasting other systems.

For the Giro, AG2R will be using the pink OSPW pulley wheels with coated bearing in their Shimano Dura-Ace rear mechs with Ceramic Speed claiming that 'due to their improved longevity and corrosion protection, they are tailormade for a race like this year's Giro d'Italia.'

If you want to add a touch of the Giro to your own bike, a set of standard pulley wheels will cost €199 or €459 for the entire OSW system.

The 2018 Giro d'Italia will begin this Friday with a 9.7km individual time trial around Jerusalem, Israel. It will be the first time in history that a Grand Tour has begun outside of Europe.
