The Hollywood actor is shifting his Mallorcan mansion and we think it's a perfect base for your Sa Calobra pilgrimage

Have you got a spare £26 million lying around? If you do, Cyclist may have found the perfect Mallorcan villa for all your riding holidays up for sale by Hollywood A-list actor Michael Douglas.

The Oscar-winning actor is currently trying to sell his chic s'Estaca estate on the north coast of Mallorca, one of the most popular destinations for cyclists around the world.

The 200-acre mansion has technically been on sale since 2014 but with little interest in the initial €55million asking price, the Romancing the Stone star has almost halved the asking price to €28.9million. A steal.

To shift the property, Douglas has pulled out some of his showbiz stardust, commissioning a promotional video of the 200-acre mansion in which he provides a voice-over to tell potential buyers what could be theirs.

The 74-year-old explains how the estate was built by Habsburg Archduke Ludwig Salvator in the mid-19th century and was then bought by Douglas in 1990 after having fallen love with the property.

Just down the road

The property is only 60km south of popular climb Sa Calobra and a 70km away from the Cap de Formentor, perfect distances for your winter training rides, while the Puig Major is but a 100km roundtrip away.

If you're worried the property may not be big enough for you, your cycling pals and all your staff, then don't.

A mere ten bedrooms can fit 20 guests including staff company across seven buildings while a 'tasteful refurbishment in 1990' saw the introduction of the multimedia lounge, Moorish pavilion, dining terrace, gym, spa and marble-lined swimming pool which will provide plenty of room for you all to unwind post-ride.

You will also have access to a private harbour - ideal should you fancy catching a boat to Sa Calobra instead of riding - and its own fisherman's house, too. Not to mention the award-winning vineyard and the accompanying wine cellar.

The property is currently on-sale with luxury real-estate firm Engel & Volkers and is currently available for viewing here.

The Cyclist team will be popping over to the island shortly to negotiate a price so check back soon for Gordon Gekko-themed Cyclist holidays to Mallorca in no time.
