Ultra-light option for the pros available to the consumer as Pinarello also launch eGravel bike

Pinarello has released the F12 X-Light, the ultra-light version of its new flagship Dogma F12 model as part of its 2020 range.

Set to be available in both disc and rim brake, the frame replicates the geometry of the standard F12 but uses  'the Torayca T1100 UD Dream Carbon material' to provide a 100g reduction in weight from the regular model.

Considering that an unpainted rim brake F12 frame is 820g and a F12 disc frame is 840g, it should mean that the X-Light iterations tip the scales at around 720g and 740g respectively, although this is estimation as Pinarello have withheld the actual weight.

Its ultra-light qualities mean that the previous F10 X-Light frame was often the weapon of choice for Team Ineos riders Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas in the high mountains.

It also means that Pinarello has set an upper weight limit for those riding the bike at 85kg and place a price tag of £6,000 for F12 X-Light rim frame and £6,200 for the F12 X-Light.

Fully-built, this bike's retail price will likely be in excess of five figures.

If you weigh under 85kg and have plenty of money in the bank, Pinarello will be taking orders for the new F12 X-Light frame now with the view of shipping in October.

If you are after something more affordable then the Pinarello Razha Disk has been updated with a Shimano 105 disc groupset, 28mm tyre clearance and Mavic Askium wheels for £2,500.

The gravel and electric bike scene has also been catered for with the new Nytro Gravel off-road e-bike which geometry allows 650b wheels with 2.1 tyres or 700c tyres with 48mm tyres.

This new bike is set to retail for £6,000.
