Take on the Cyclist team and your fellow readers by creating the best Tour de France fantasy team

Nothing beats having bragging rights on the weekend club run, telling your mates that you always knew Ivan Garcia Cortina was the next big thing after his shock Tour de France stage win the day before and that you always backed Nairo Quintana to win that summit finish.

If you fancy yourself as a Patrick Lefevere or Dave Brailsford in the making, how about putting your metaphorical money where your mouth is by signing up to the Tour de France fantasy game.

It's simple, using an allocated budget, you have to build your own team of eight riders that will earn you points based upon their performances throughout the race.

Take your pick of the world's best General Classification men, fastest sprinters and most destructive climbers who will all earn points based on how they do on each stage, where they stand on GC and how they are faring in the mountain and sprint classifications.

On each stage, the top 100 riders will all earn points so it should not be too hard to score each day. Each team will be able to pick a road captain that will earn them double points (Peter Sagan, hint, hint) with transfers only available on the Tour's two rest days.

All those who sign up will be entered into the general Tour de France league matching you up against people from all over the world.

But what you really want to enter is the Cyclist Magazine league, letting you take on your fellow readers and also the magazine's editorial experts.

All you have to do to sign-up is click the link here and enter in your details. Once that's done, find league 257 'Cyclist readers' to enter our league.

The eventual winner will not only earn the respect of all his or her virtual peers but also a virtual pat on the back from the team at Cyclist. There are no actual prizes.
