Geraint Thomas will target time-trial success while Ben Swift will lead Great Britain in the road race at the UCI World Championships in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

Thomas, the 2018 Tour de France champion, will race in both the time-trial and road race as he hopes to secure Great Britain's first elite title since Bradley Wiggins won the TT in 2014.

Current road race National Champion Swift will be afforded the chance to hunt rainbow glory in his home county on Sunday 29th September. He will be joined by Team Ineos teammate Thomas, following the latter's ride in the time-trial on Thursday 26th September.

Ian Stannard and Owain Doull complete the Team Ineos riders selected for the Great Britain team while Mitchelton-Scott's Adam Yates also makes the team.

While Alex Dowsett has not been selected for the road race, he will partner Thomas as the second rider in the time-trial.

Simon Yates is the biggest name to be omitted from the road race while Luke Rowe and Connor Swift also miss the cut.

This will likely be the team's only chance at racing a home World Championships with it being just the second occasion it has visited the UK in its history - Goodwood in 1982 being the first.
