With the World Championships about to start in Yorkshire, Cyclist wants to put your knowledge to the test

It's Friday, the World Championships are just about to start in Yorkshire, so let's celebrate with a quiz.

Everyone loves a cycling-related quiz, showing off that useless knowledge you've picked up from years of listening to Sherwin, Liggett and Kirby, absorbing like a sponge who came second on Stage 3 of Paris-Nice in 1992.

But can you name the riders who made the podium of every elite men's road race World Championships since the inaugural race in 1927 hosted in Nurburgring?

It's tough, actually, it's nearly impossible, especially when you start going back to the pre-Merckx days. We will be impressed if you manage to name 150 of the 255 riders.

Some will be easy to remember *cough* Peter Sagan *cough* but which Frenchman finished third in Prague way back in 1981?

Below is every rider to have won rainbow and the two other riders who took first and second loser. You've got an incredibly generous 20 minutes to name as many as you can, then we want you to post your score with some proof!
