Gore and Romance collaborate for world's first coloured Shakedry

Advancements in printing and adjustments to the waterproof membrane have made coloured designs on Shakedry jackets possible

London-based cycling clothing brand Romance has partnered with Gore to make the first full colour Shakedry jacket. Due to restrictions with the waterproof Gore-Tex membrane, Gore has previously been restricted to dark colours when producing this market-leading technology.

However, having worked closely with Romance, it has created a new 'metalised' material alongside a modified digital printer and special ink to allow brighter colours to be used on the Shakedry technology.

Called the Gore x RMNC SD jacket, it will come in a striking blue tye dye look and also be limited to only 200 units, with each being a slightly different design.

Besides the colour advancements, the jacket will also have an ergonomically shaped collar, elastic hem, reflective detailing and a front zipped pocket.

Sales associate for Gore, Ben Washington, believes this latest collaboration has helped push the boundaries of what can be done with Shakedry.

'We are really stoked to collaborate with the team at Romance to develop the stunning Gore x RMNC GTX SD Jacket. Merging their creative genius with Gore's technical innovation, we have really pushed the boundaries of modern design to offer riders an unprecedented level of function and form,' said Washington.

'Using a modified membrane and new printing technologies we have unlocked a new palette of colours for Shakedry products and look forward to the possibilities this opens up for the future.'

This will be the first jacket of its kind and will likely open up the doors for more coloured Shakedry products in the near future, perhaps leading to sponsoship of WorldTour teams.
