Coronavirus and Cyclist: A message from us

1 Apr 2020

Hello from us at the Cyclist team.

First and foremost, we sincerely hope you are managing well in these difficult times.

Amid the uncertainty of the Covid-19 crisis, we at Cyclist are still busily working away to bring you the best content, events and experiences from the world of cycling.

We are working remotely for the foreseeable future, and are continuing to ride our test bikes locally, within our allotted daily exercise session. Our website, social channels, newsletter and all other digital products are exactly as they’ve ever been, but we’d like to update you on a few things that may change.

Cyclist & Cyclist Off-Road Magazine

Firstly, if you want to buy our magazine, you still can. We are still stocked at selected newsagents as well as Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose stores across the country.

If you’re having trouble getting to a shop, though, we are now selling the current issue in our online shop, which can be delivered directly to your door. Or better yet, you can grab a subscription at a fraction of the shop price and enjoy your issues being home delivered every month!

When it comes to our subscribers, we want to ensure that we have measures in place for you to continue to get the magazine you love.

Our subscriptions team are closely monitoring any changes to our print and delivery process. Should we be unable to deliver your print copy, we will contact you by email to provide complimentary access to the digital edition of your magazine until the situation is resolved.

For the most up to date information on how your magazine delivery and our service might be impacted by Covid-19, please check our dedicated webpage which we’re updating regularly.

Cyclist Track Day series

There is nothing more important to the Cyclist team than the health and safety of our readers and event guests.

While we have worked our very hardest to make sure you can still ride your dream bike in 2020, current circumstances mean that this will no longer be possible for everybody.

As a result, please see the new lineup of dates below:

Castle Combe Circuit, Chippenham - Sunday 3rd May
Brownlee Centre, Leeds - Sunday 7th June
Cyclopark, Kent - Saturday 20th June

Fife Cycle Park, Scotland - from Sunday 31st May to Sunday 23rd August
Lee Valley Velopark, London - from Sunday 21st June to Saturday 12th September
Mallory Park, Leicester - from Saturday 16th May to Saturday 17th October

For those who’ve booked a Cyclist Track Days ticket, we will make sure you’re taken care of.

If you have already purchased a ticket to one of the three cancelled venues, you can now transfer to another date of your choice. If you have purchased a ticket for one of the three postponed venues, your ticket will remain valid for this new date.

If you cannot attend the new dates, or wish to cancel your ticket, please contact us and we will issue you a full refund as soon as possible.

Don’t be disheartened if you can’t attend any of the new dates either, as we’ve got plenty of other events to get excited about.

Alternatively, we can offer you a print and digital subscription bundle for cyclists for the rest of the year (eight issues - RRP £87.84).

Cyclist x dhb Strava challenge

Next month Cyclist magazine is going to be 100 issues old! To celebrate our 100th issue, we’ve teamed up with Strava and clothing brand dhb to bring you the first Cyclist x dhb 100 Challenge.

The challenge is to ride 100km between 6th April and 19th April, see the full details here.

While we initially imagined our 100th issue challenge as a purely outdoor one, we’ve opened up the challenge to all indoor training. So whether you’re staying inside, or making the most of daily outdoor exercise, you can take part.

Please keep reading, riding and most importantly stay healthy.
