Multiple opportunities to stalk the stars via Zwift this weekend
This Sunday should have been the pinnacle of the best week in cycling. But with real-world racing suspended and the Tour of Flanders postponed, many riders are looking for an excuse to tire themselves out.
Chasing some past and current stars of the Classics circuit around Zwift could present as good an alternative as you’re going to find while stuck indoors and several big names are logging-in to get some exercise.
Hotly tipped as a potential winner for this year’s race, Mathieu van der Poel and his Alpecin-Fenix teammates will be holding an exhibition race amongst themselves, which you can watch live on Zwift’s YouTube channel at 10:00 BST on Sunday 5th April.
If you’d rather ride than spectate, previous Tour of Flanders winners Annemiek van Vleuten and Philippe Gilbert will be leading interactive fan rides.
Giving you the chance to quiz them about their race-winning strategies, they’ll be joined by current men’s road race World Champion Mads Pedersen and previous Paris-Roubaix and Milan-San Remo winner John Degenkolb, who’ll also be hosting social rides.
Sign in for the lot and you’ll have spent an equal amount of time pedalling as you would have stuck to the sofa watching Eurosport under normal conditions.
Zwift rides during Ronde van Vlaanderen this Sunday
