Ale and Movistar want you to design the jersey they wear on return from lockdown

Would you like the chance to design a WorldTour team kit and see it raced in the actual professional peloton? Well, now is your chance as Spanish stalwarts Movistar and their kit manufacture Ale have teamed up on a challenge to design a new jersey for the team which will be worn in the first race back after the coronavirus lockdown.

The initiative called 'Let’s Design the Champions’ Jersey' is looking to raise money for the Red Cross and Italian Civil Defence and simply asks fans to design a unique jersey.

It is pretty simple to enter. All you need to do is visit the Ale website here and download a few templates of the jersey to print off. Then sharpen those pencils and get creative.

Word of warning, be sure to keep in the lines and leave the logos blank, that's a contractual obligation. But beyond that, the world is your lycra-clad oyster as Movistar ask for the most standout design possible.

Once happy, you need to upload an image of your design to social media with the hashtag #SeguimosConectados while also tagging @Alecyclingofficial and @movistar_team. All entrants will be considered up until 26th April.

The Movistar team and Ale will then whittle down the long list to a final six that will then be posted on Instagram. That is when the general public get their chance to vote for a winner.

The successful jersey will then be worn by the Movistar men's and women's teams in the first race back after lockdown - whenever that may be - and the victorious designer will also be gifted a jersey for their own collection.

To help raise money for the Red Cross and Italian Civil Defence, all the race-worn jerseys will then be auctioned off.

For more information or to access the templates, visit the Ale website here. As for the Cyclist team, we now have a busy afternoon ahead of us designing a winning kit.
