London Bike Show pushed back to March 2021

July return no longer realistic for show as it pushes back to next spring

The London Bike Show will not return until 2021 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, with its venue currently being used as a temporary Nightingale Hospital. The annual bike and triathlon show was scheduled to take place between 5th and 7th March but was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak and resulting government lockdown.

The show's organiser then stated that the show would be pushed back until July.

However, since this announcement in March, the host venue of the show, the London Excel Centre, has been temporarily converted into the NHS Nightingale Hospital to help in the fight against coronavirus.

Additionally, the financial implications that are affecting the bike industry have forced the show into postponing until the spring of 2021.

'Since making the initial announcement on 12th March that the shows would be delayed until July 2020, the UK has undergone a huge change' a statement announcing the further postponement reads. 'Due to large restrictions placed on life in general, and the impact these are having on business the revised July date is no longer an option.

'Following discussions with the venue (which is currently in use as NHS Nightingale) we are pleased to announce that the show will now take place from 5th to 7th March 2021. By delaying until then, we feel that this will give businesses involved in the show (both exhibitors and our contractors) a much better chance to make a full recovery from this difficult period.'

The statement continued by praising the recent uptake of cycling and running in the UK as a result of the coronavirus lockdown and the hope it could see a record number of visitors attend the bike show, which celebrates its 10th anniversary next March.

Additionally, the organiser confirmed that anyone who had already purchased a ticket for this year's show will have it carried over to the new dates. Furthermore, anybody unable to attend the new dates will be entitled to a full refund.
