Watch: The best cycling advert we've ever seen

If this doesn't get you all excited for the Giro d'Italia, we don't know what will

If this new advert from Rai Sport doesn't make the hairs stand on the back of the neck and see you become all misty-eyed in excitement for the Giro d'Italia next month, are you even a cycling fan?

Twice-winner of the Maglia Rosa, Trek-Segafredo's Vincenzo Nibali stars in a new promotional advert for next month's Giro that sees him riding alongside CGI versions of some the great Campionissimos of year's gone by.

Taking on a sultry-looking Nibali were the likes of Gino Bartali, Felice Gimondi and, of course, Fausto Coppi. The group of legends are then overtaken by Il Pirata, Marco Pantani, before the riders all crest the climb together.

And the best thing about it all, the lot of them are riding along to a shredding, Van Halen-esque rendition of Nessum Dorma, the classic operatic piece made famous by Luciano Pavarotti when he recorded the song for the 1990 football World Cup in Italy (surely the greatest World Cup ever).

This year's delayed Giro begins on Saturday 3rd October in Sicily, five months on from its original dates in May. Nibali is among the big favourites aiming for the pink jersey alongside Jakob Fuglsang (Astana), Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) and Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers).

Based on this video, we are certainly tipping Nibali for a third Maglia Rosa.
