The final weekend of the Giro d'Italia is here and there is still all to play for
With one day left in the moutains at this year's Giro d'Italia, we are poised for a battle royale all the way to Milan.
Egan Bernal is still in the maglia rosa and he still holds a 2 minutes 29 second advantage to his nearest rival but there is no denying the Ineos Grenadier has been in decline during this third week, rumours suggesting historic back pain the cause.
Chinks in the armour that were not present in the first two weeks are now clear for all to see and those around him smell blood.
In this final week, Team BikeExchange's Simon Yates has been chipping away seconds with each mountain, slowly clawing his way back into the fight for pink. But is it all too little too late? Only one mountain stage and one 30km time trial remain and Yates has to somehow find two minues and 49 seconds on Bernal.
The good news is that Yates is not interested in finishing on the Giro podium, he is only interested in the pink jersey and therefore we can expect some exciting racing on the final weekend of this year's Giro.
For now, the best images of Stage 19 from Chris Auld.
