Alpkit Rhythm Elite women’s bib tights review

VERDICT: A great value pair of bib tights ideal for training rides

RATING:

HIGHS: Very comfortable • Excellent value • Ideal for training rides

LOWS: Ankle zips can feel slightly scratchy • No comfort break feature

PRICE: £64.99

Alpkit’s Rhythm Elite bib tights are a great pair of good quality longs ideal for long training rides. They’re available in both men’s and women’s versions, and it’s the women’s Rythm Elite bib tights on test here.
I’ve been wearing these for several hours at a time and have found them to be an absolute steal at £64.99.
The soft brushed inner makes for a warm and comfortable pair of bib tights which feel great against the skin. I really liked how these felt on my legs.

The bib tights have a DWR finish which protects from wind and light showers.
I like to wear these bib tights with the Alpkit Rhythm Thicky jersey. It makes for quite the comfortable training ride combo.

Alpkit Rhythm Elite bib tights: Fit and sizing

I tested a size 12 and these fitted true to size. The legs weren’t too short and the mesh upper body is comfortable.
The straps have a decent amount of stretch in them if you are on the taller side like me.
The design of the straps means that there is no comfort break option, which makes these tights not ideal for long days in the saddle, as who wants to be taking their entire outfit on and off in the depths of winter? Not me.
The lack of comfort break feature is a shame, so I would say these are more suited to a few hours in the saddle rather than a long day.

The bib tights have ankles zips on the sides of the tights which makes them easy to get on and off.
An issue I did have was that the zips were slightly scratchy when riding. That said, this wasn’t a huge problem, and didn’t put me off wearing them.

Alpkit Rhythm Elite bib tights: Comfort

I found the chamois in these tights really comfortable. The Rhythm pad is made from dual density foam which the brand says contours to your body to help relieve saddle pressure. It also has a Silvadur 930 anti-microbial finish for freshness.
Of note is that the chamois is much more prominent externally than the likes of the Santini Coral Bengal bib tights or Universal Colours Chroma Thermal Plus bib tights. This didn’t bother me, but it might not be to everyone’s taste.

Alpkit Rhythm Elite bib tights: Verdict

The Alpkit Rhythm Elite bib tights are a fantastic pair of tights which suit training rides for a few hours.
They are very comfortable and soft, and at a purse friendly price of £64.99, they are a bargain.
