Elite Suito turbo trainer first look

2 Jan 2020

Portable and simple to set up, this trainer goes from the box to ride-ready in less than five minutes

Most cyclists can come up with several ready excuses to get out of training indoors, with some complaint about the ‘tortuous setup process’ invariably sitting near the top of the list.

Elite has some bad news for the procrastinators, as the Italian brand claims its new Suito turbo trainer can go from the box to ride-ready in less than five minutes.

‘Unlike many of its competitors, the Suito ships fully assembled,’ says Elite’s Peter Lago. ‘A rider just needs to unfold the support legs, connect the trainer to a power source and install the bike.

The Suito even includes a Shimano 105 11-speed cassette – pre-installed, of course.’

Like every high-end trainer nowadays, the Suito is more than able to cope with any physical demands asked of it by a regular rider.

It can simulate slopes of up to 15%, provide resistance of up to 1,900 watts at 40kmh while remaining quiet, measure power to within +/-2.5% accuracy, measure cadence without a sensor, connect to devices via ANT+ or BLE… the list goes on.

What sets the Suito apart, however, is its ability to address more practical issues, says Lago.

‘With the legs folded the trainer is only 15cm wide, so it can be packed away inconspicuously, yet set up again very quickly when it’s time to train, where the steel body and adjustable legs create a stable base on the floor.’

The Suito’s key selling point may sound simple, but if its easy assembly makes you more motivated to train, it could prove to be a very smart move by Elite.

After all, the best training session is the one you actually do.
