Switzerland may be small, but it crams in just about everything you’d want from a cycling holiday, including some of the world’s highest routes, pristine roads that are frequently traffic free, and scenery so mesmerising it’ll literally force you to stop and gasp.

And there is no better place to start discovering its enticing charms than in the country’s stunning southwest – in particular, the Valais region which boasts vineyards, meadows, mountains and roads so safe they’ve actually won international awards! Cycling here is king.

Indeed, the Tour de France, the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de Romandie have all brought the world’s greatest riders here at one time or another, and there is nothing to stop you following in their wheel tracks.

If you do come, though, the best and safest way to explore these high lands is to hook up with people who know the area inside out, and one organisation which can certainly help out with that is Kudos Cycling.

Its team is made up of former pro riders, elite level mountain bikers, triathletes, and adventure racers, as well as nutritionists, mechanics, sports scientists and, of course, qualified guides.

Having such a wide range of experts on board, allows Kudos to offer a truly impressive array of packages and services that suit all levels of ability and will allow you to get the absolute most from your trip whatever the aim of it.

Maybe you’ve never tried riding in mountains before and are keen to experience the rush that comes with learning how to conquer their unique challenges.

Perhaps you’re in search of a more advanced training camp, complete with a nutrition plan, technical coaching and assessments that use cutting-edge tech, either as an individual or as a group.

Or maybe you actually want to really test yourself against those mountains in one of the region’s many sportives or Gran Fondos.

Whatever type of riding you want to do, Kudos can help and you can expect its staff to not only share with you the most spectacular routes in the region but also their expert knowledge via pre-ride briefings, on-the-bike coaching and post-ride feedback, ensuring that not only will you return home with great memories but some vastly improved cycling skills, too.

Kudos’s packages (which also include camps exclusively for female riders) start from approximately £825 per person for a 4-day trip, based on two sharing.

Accommodation in hand-picked, bike-friendly hotels is included, as are all meals and airport transfers. Flights are extra, but with plenty of carriers to choose from leaving from most major UK airports, fares to nearby Geneva can be found for as little as £50 return.

See for more.
